Frequently Asked Questions

Piercing

Do you use a needle or a piercing gun?

Always a single-use, sterilized needle — never a gun. Needles are gentler on the tissue, more precise, and far safer for healing. Piercing guns cause blunt-force trauma and can’t be properly sterilized.

How badly does a piercing hurt?

Most people feel a quick, sharp pinch and then a dull throb that fades within seconds. It varies by placement and your own tolerance — earlobes are very mild, while cartilage and some body piercings are a touch more intense but over fast. We work efficiently and talk you through every step.

How long do piercings take to heal?

It depends on the spot: earlobes usually settle in 6–8 weeks, nostrils around 4–6 months, and cartilage, navel, and many body piercings 6–12 months. Healing is gradual — a piercing can feel fine on the surface while still healing underneath, so stick with your aftercare the whole way.

When can I change my jewelry?

Wait until your piercing is fully healed before swapping jewelry, and let us handle the first change — especially downsizing once the initial swelling goes down. Changing too early can irritate the piercing and set healing back.

What kind of jewelry do you use?

Only implant-grade, body-safe jewelry — titanium and solid gold with proper internal threading — from trusted brands. It’s safe for fresh piercings and gentle on sensitive skin. Browse styles in our Jewelry Catalog or add a new piece when you book.

Do you pierce minors?

Age requirements depend on the piercing and Florida law, and a parent or legal guardian must be present with matching photo ID. Some piercings have minimum ages regardless of consent. Message us before booking and we’ll walk you through exactly what’s needed.

Permanent Makeup

What’s the difference between microblading, powder, and ombré brows?

Microblading uses fine, hair-like strokes for a natural look; powder (shading) gives a soft, filled-in makeup effect; ombré blends from a lighter front to a defined tail. At your consult we’ll recommend the technique that best suits your skin type and the look you’re after.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

We apply a topical numbing cream before and during your session, so most clients feel only light pressure or scratching. It’s very manageable, and we check in with you throughout.

How long does permanent makeup last?

Typically 1–3 years before it gradually softens, depending on your skin type, sun exposure, skincare, and aftercare. Oilier skin and lots of sun fade faster. A periodic color boost keeps it looking fresh.

Why do I need a touch-up?

Permanent makeup is a two-step process. About 6–8 weeks after your first session — once your skin has fully healed — we do a perfecting touch-up to refine the shape and color. It’s a normal, important part of getting the best, longest-lasting result.

What does healing look like?

Your brows look bold and dark for the first few days, then lighten noticeably as the skin heals and lightly flakes over 1–2 weeks. Don’t pick or scrub — let it peel naturally. The true, softened color settles in around 4–6 weeks.

Is permanent makeup right for everyone?

Most people are great candidates, but it may not be suitable if you’re pregnant or nursing, have certain skin conditions, or take specific medications. If you’re unsure, check with your doctor and message us — we’re happy to talk it through before you book.

Aftercare & Healing

How do I care for a new piercing?

Clean it with a sterile saline spray once or twice a day, keep your hands off it, avoid pools and hot tubs, skip heavy products around the area, and don’t rotate the jewelry. You’ll leave with detailed, piercing-specific instructions.

How do I care for new permanent makeup?

Keep the area clean and dry, apply any aftercare ointment exactly as directed, and avoid sweating, swimming, direct sun, and makeup on the area while it heals. Never pick the flaking — let it shed on its own.
